which I highly doubt anyone would have done this. When it is mentioned that these ports need to be open this does not mean port forward this simply means that if for any reason you have blocked off or closed those two ports you will need to unblock/open them again. Ports 22 and 443 are outbound ports and all outbound ports are open by default on the majority of routers and so don't require you to do anything. Side note: You may have read that ports 22 and 443 need to be open, This was badly worded/described. Next you will not want to do the port forward using the IP address you wrote down previously and forwarding only "TCP 44158". This will then show you which IP address your hotspot was assigned write it down as you will be needing it for port forwarding and accessing your Bobcats GUI.

Secondly you will also need your BobcatMiners IP address which will usually show on your routers admin page when you login to it under connected devices.Īlternatively you can put the miner into Bluetooth mode by holding the pin button on the back of your Bobcatminer until the light turns blue on the hotspot and then pair on the helium app and run diagnostic. However if it doesn't this isn't a huge issue It will just mean you will need to check that your Bobcat's IP is still the same from time to time and you would know it's changed as your Bobcats status will change to "Relayed" on the helium explorer.

Side note: If your ISP/Router allows for a static IP then this would be beneficial to prevent your miners assigned IP address changing in the future.

This is just a quick guide to help you get the needed tcp 44158 port forwarded for your Bobcatminer and by doing so will avoid your miner being in relayed status.įirstly you'll need to Google "port forward" along with your ISP and router model to get a step by step on how to do it as this varies slightly from model to model.
